On June 2, 2025, Apache Junction Police Officer Gabriel Facio responded to a call for service involving a road rage incident where a male subject was brandishing a firearm at other motorists. During the encounter with the male subject, Officer Facio suffered a gunshot wound to the face and is in critical condition.

Officer Facio, a husband and father, has been with the Apache Junction Police Department for 3.5 years. We are deeply grateful for the outpouring support from the community. Many have asked how they can help. The Apache Junction FOP Lodge 83 has set up this page in support of Officer Facio and his family, who are going through this difficult time. Please keep Officer Gabriel Facio’s family in your hearts. 

On June 08, 2025 Officer Gabriel Facio has succumb to his injuries. Officer Facio will be deeply missed by all. Thank you everyone who has showed their caring hearts through this difficult time.
